My First Seminar (Training)

I had my first company seminar/training on previous Wednesday. It was a so good thing to me because I don't have to work for that day. It was a whole-day-training.

The training was organized by Grunfos. Grunfos is one of the world largest pump suppliers. Em` perhaps it may sounds quite weird here. What is so interesting with pump, anyway.

Well` basically the training is about cool water service. Cool water service is the water usage that every household is using. However, we, as an engineer.. we are doing something more.

And that's training all about. We were given seminar on piping system calculation/design, pump sizing design/selection, pressure calculation.. etc. It's like going back to university again where I have to learn formulas, formulas and formulas..

Kinda regretted that I didn't study my Fluid Mechanics during university time seriously. I've forgotten everything about head loss thingy. Whatsoever`..

It was a very basic and simple training/seminar. My senior engineer, he knew everything already but it was good to me as a beginner engineer. It helped me to expose myself more into cool water service. There are 5 services in total for a mechanical engineer in my field.

We don't usually see that around but in fact they are there in our houses, especially condo. Just that it is hidden. That's something I am going to deal with in future. Pipe sizing and stuffs.

By the end of the session, I am given a certificate and my senior boasted so loud when we went back to the office.

"NOW, Richard is good already. He can do piping system design liao!.."

I replied.. "Yes. GRADUATED. got cert now!"

Now things only start to get interesting. Looking forward for it. =]

I guess I have to stop here. I find this post is too technical. It may bring you all yawning around.
